DAC/Amp: SDAC-B & THX AAA 789. Overall sound signature. The Empyrean is tuned for hours upon hour of listening enjoyment independent of the genre or quality of the music you listen to. It’s warm, smooth and laid back, but with plenty sparkle and air up top. Overall it’s a well-balanced, neutral sound signature.

While there are areas that we would like to see improved there is no denying that these are charming company. May 8, 2023 · This new headphone looks very similar to the Empyrean on the outside but is, in fact, a completely new driver inside with different acoustic properties. It also costs $1,000 more than the Empyrean.
Nov 8, 2023 · Headphoneus Supremus. TLDW: Way less bloaty, much more clear, a very strong competitor to any headphone at any pricepoint. Weakspot: Dynamics. The very obvious mid-bass bloat has always been the dealbreaker for me with the original Empyrean and to a slightly lesser degree, the Empyrean Elite.
