  1. It’s just a well executed warm sound signature that’s relaxing and fairly detailed at the same time. The Elites improved the detail and tonality a bit but in my opinion they lost a bit of the Empyrean charm. One of my personal favourites of all headphones is the Liric for some reason.

  2. The Empyrean is a jack of all trade’s kind of versatile headphone that has superb bass and vocals. Timbre is on point, and very natural sounding. With the suede pads the soundstage is very wide (not HD800 wide but not too far off either) with acceptable imaging.

  3. Here is what I came up with and why. The Empyrean sounded great on anything it was paired with; however, the Stellia on the the Tube system (Feliks) and the Abyss with the Formula S (both of which are the recommended amps for each) sounded clearly, definitively clearer, faster, crisper and perfecter (I made that up) than the Empyrean.

  8. Mar 17, 2019 · The Empyrean is ‘imperiously comfortable’ with just the right blend of lateral and vertical pressure for really long listening sessions. For a double-sided magnet design and for its relatively large size Meze can be very proud of just how easy the Empyrean sits on your head.
