6 days ago · I've found Trainorders to be a good source for modern day railroading but their steam and excursion section doesn't provide much in the way of actual news. Occasionally an interesting tidbit comes down the line and they do have some good technical info but I've found RYPN to have much more comprehensive and reliable coverage of preservation news.
There's lots of nice stuff on YT - Railfan Dan, David Lauback, alcheng 1000, and rrphotographer65, PHX Sub Railfanner are a few that I watch. One of the good things about these, is that there all typically over 20 mins in length.
