It is not that wealth is intrinsically evil, or that poverty is blessed. Rather, a devotion to gathering wealth is incompatible with devotion to God. God must always be the most important thing in our lives: "No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other.
