Is Chevy Volt a good EV?
I’m normally wary of Chevy and GM bc of their notorious build and reliability issues. But the Volt was over engineered and there just isn’t as much to go wrong as an EV. The biggest thing with the gen 2 is the shift to park issue which you will see all over this subreddit.

Is a 2013 Volt a good car?
2013 Volt here. I bought it used as a one-owner lease turn-in. It really has been a great car. Low-maintenance, cheap to drive (on electricity), and it has been very reliable thus far. When it was my primary driver, the battery range covered me 90% of the time. Others in my family drive it now.

Does a volt have any problems?
Even still, the Volt doesn’t seem to me like it will be plagued with issues. Most Volt owners don’t have issues and the only one that is common is STP. Pretty much all EV motors by their nature are very reliable and will outlast the cars they are put into.

Is a volt a good hybrid car?
As far as maintenance goes, on paper the Volt should be one of the least expensive hybrids to maintain. Full electric cars are much, much cheaper to maintain because there’s so few parts to break. Logically then the more EV miles you can drive the less maintenance you’ll see. Really maintenance is going to come down to the ICE (gas engine).
