Jul 15, 2014 · We had saved a substantial amount toward college but at $60k per year it’s gone. Plus, if you don’t get financial aid, you don’t get work/study, and there are few campus jobs for non work study students. (2) Likewise the touted Scripps summer fellowships for internships or research seem to be reserved for needy students.
Another reason I chose Scripps was the small classroom sizes; these have lived up to my expectations. My first year (on zoom), my classes were all ~16 people. I also take voice lessons, which is two faculty (voice prof and pianist) to one student. I love how caring the faculty are and how they connect with students.
Aug 17, 2024 · With 300 words, you should spend about a third of your essay on where/when you would go, and the last two-thirds of your essay should focus on the why. Make sure your answer is unique to you. If your answer feels like something that any student could write, then you want to keep digging deeper.
Scripps is not only a beautiful college, but it was the first place I found community as a woman of color. The students are kind, driven, and sincere, and thousands of opportunities await if you seek them. If you are not driven, this is not the right place for you and you will find it hard to succeed.
