There are three actions that cause the player to receive a specific duration of "bad Ladybug luck": If the player kills a Ladybug (either naturally spawned or player-released) at a close distance, they will receive "bad Ladybug luck" for 3 / 6 minutes at most.
Calamity has fantastic sprites, music and items but absolutely pathetic excuses for bosses. I don't even understand how they made them so bad. There's so many unique things in the mod yet the bosses are just reskins of vanilla ones with like an extra attack or two, if that.
Calamity is arguably one of highest quality video game mods ever made and seems to be praised by most prominent members of the Terraria community, so I find it bizarre that so many people treat it as some overrated, low-quality garbage content mod.
Luck affects things like drop rates, damage, and some enemy spawns. You can get good luck from a nearby Garden Gnome, from touching a player-released ladybug, or from torches. You can get bad luck from killing ladybugs or NPCs. Most of the drama came specifically from how Torch Luck was implimented.
The Luck Potions are three types of buff potions which grant the Lucky buff, increasing the player's luck. This lasts for 5–15 minutes, but can be canceled at any time by right-clicking the icon (), by selecting the icon using Cycle Next/Previous Buff and then pressing Remove Buff (), or by double-tapping the buff icon ().
