I can’t comment as much on Overlord because I’ve only gotten through parts of the manga/anime, but I don’t like how Ainz is playing so hard into his role and deceiving his apparent family. (Comparatively, in Reincarnated as a Slime, the MC coming clean as a former human was one of my favorite parts).

Overlord Manga is based on the light novel series. It was a manga adaptation written by Satoshi Ōshio, with art illustrated by Hugin Miyama. It began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's manga magazine Comp Ace. As of now, nineteen volumes have already been published in Japanese since November 26, 2014.
Currently, was an ongoing manga that was released one chapter per month in Monthly Comp Ace. The manga was also licensed in North America by Yen Press. Eighteen volumes have already been published in English since June 28, 2016.
On September 20, 2023, it was announced that Hugin Miyama would be leaving the manga team. As for the continuity of the series, it had been left uncertain if the manga will resume.
On February 21, 2024, it was announced that a new artist, Matsuki, will be the illustrator for the second part of the manga adaption, Overlord New World which will be serialized on the new webcomic page Comp Ace Comic Connect.
