Dec 30, 2020 · Space: Above And Beyond featured an incredibly fleshed out sci-fi world, and the showrunners hoped it would last for at least five seasons. Various concepts and plot twists were floated for season 2 would have seen Colonel McQueen (James Morrison, 24) crippled and spending time on Earth, seeing the war from a civilian perspective, while struggling to come to terms with an artificial limb.

Everybody died. From Wiki: The final episode ends in a cliffhanger, with T. C. McQueen badly injured and most of the major cast apparently killed or missing in action, with only Cooper Hawkes and Nathan West remaining. Yet with Earth in a much stronger strategic position, there is hope despite the losses and sacrifices.
Three reasons for that: There are way too many great, good or just decent sci-fi novels that deserve a first shot rather than a remake of a series without much direction (and the cliffhanger was a bit of a disappointment, at least they could replace panspermia with a proper claim on Earth. Oct 2, 2018 · The series was cancelled after only one season, and I remember reading somewhere online, a few years after it was cancelled, that the producers had written the whole plot for the series but couldn't release it to fans due to copyright issue or something similar.

This episode does an excellent job of humanizing (for lack of a better term) the Chigs. Up until this point, they were faceless space monsters, here we see that for all their differences, they are still people with human-like emotions. Rowland is terrific here in a story with minimal dialogue. Level of Necessity.
