1 Corinthians 15:45-49
- 1 Corinthians 15:45-49 tells us that Adam was a man of dust, and Christ is a man of heaven. In verse 49, the apostle states that believers in Christ will be like Christ in heaven. Jan 4, 2022 · Scripture informs us that our “lowly bodies” will be just “like His glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). Indeed, the physical limitations imposed by sin that hinder our ability to fully serve Him on earth will be forever gone, freeing us to praise and serve and glorify Him for eternity.
These verses tell us that those who die, having trusted Christ as personal Savior, will be given bodies like that of the Lord Jesus Christ. It will be a body that is not subject to disease and death any longer. It will be in all points perfect, as the Lord Jesus Christ’s body is also perfect.
Romans 8:29 states that believers will be conformed to the image of Christ. 1 John 3:2 adds that our spiritual body will be like Jesus’ body when He appears, either at the rapture or at His second coming.
The bodies we receive in the resurrection will have the same qualities as the glorified resurrection body of Christ. “We know that when He appears we shall be like Him“ ( 1 John 3:2 ). Christ’s resurrection body was the same body as before, not a whole new one.
