Apr 23, 2024 · If FNAF 2 wants Afton to be the movie’s primary antagonist and wants to deviate from the games, then Afton will most likely appear as Springtrap. In the games, there is a time jump between meeting Afton and him becoming one of the spirits that haunt Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
This is a theory that I don’t hear too often, but I personally believe that Michael Afton is not Jeremy Fitzgerald, or Fritz Smith and that he never visits the FNaF 2 location. There is actual considerable evidence for either side of this discussion, and I am going to present all that I have found in this post.
Vanny had great potential to be the new main threat, a crazed follower of Afton that desires to follow in his footsteps and continues what he started. Everything could now happen her way as the new face for the evil in these games. But she's still just a minion.
