If the 7800 had the same number of first-party games, but had third-party games released at the same ratio (compared to first-party games) as the 5200 did, then the 7800 would've had over 100 games ...
Jan 8, 2014 · Atari 7800 - Retroarch (using the Prosystem core) and Mess. Retroarch has problems with some games so I have Mess setup as an alternate emulator. I'm running Mess 0.151 which is really old. I've heard the new Mess 0.157 has very good 7800 emulation but I haven't tried yet. If true I'll replace Retroarch with Mess. Will try it this weekend.

It is great that they include about ten 5200 games and remembered the 5200 in the Atari console lineage (no Jag support though). In the YouTube review by GenXGrownup, he shows that the 5200 games use Altirra as an emulator.

For example, Atari 2600 games are in .a26 (or .bin format), while Atari 5200 games are in .a52 and Atari 7800 in.a78. Of course, in order to play these games it is necessary to have an emulator compatible with these files.
