The WECHU is focused on providing COVID-19 vaccine to high-risk and priority populations who have limited vaccine access options. Once available, appointments for a Windsor-Essex County Health Unit COVID-19 clinic can be booked online for individuals from high-risk and priority populations. Book an appointment.
Individuals will need proof of their COVID-19 vaccinations before contacting the WECHU to have their records entered into COVaxON. Once they have this information, these individuals can contact the health unit at 519-258-2146. Where to find proof of vaccination

Our Health Unit provides public health services to the Windsor-Essex County communities. We currently have over 200 staff who are qualified and trained in a variety of areas.
The infectious diseases dashboard provides a summary of active and rescinded outbreaks in Windsor-Essex County, annual and monthly counts of reportable diseases, along with annual disease rates for Windsor-Essex County and Ontario.
The Health Unit monitors beach water quality at eight public beaches at least once each week from June to September to make sure that bacterial (E.coli) counts are at safe levels for swimming. Beach sampling will take place every Wednesday (or Thursday if Wednesday is statutory holiday).
