TYO Animations (TYO Animations Inc) was the corporate name of Yumeta Company (YUMETA CO., LTD.) from July 1, 2009 to December 1, 2017. Established as Shizuoka Animation (Shizuoka Animation Co., Ltd.) on March 5, 1986, by Satoshi Yamaguchi, a former animator at Tama Production.
In December 2017, Memory Tech Holdings' Graphinica acquired the studio from TYO as a subsidiary and reverted its name to Yumeta Company. Until the brand’s initial retirement in 2010, its notable works included Animation Runner Kuromi (2001), La corda d'oro: primo passo (2006), and Miracle Train: Welcome to the Oedo Line (2009).
Graphinica bought TYO Animation, which is also reverting to its former name Yumeta Company from back before they merged with Hal to create the current studio.
