The complains about dice in backgammon are as old as Backgammon software. The majority is unjustified (I remember one site where the dice was proven to be rigged). The typical complain is, that a certain dice sequence is totally impossible etc. Naturally there are no data that allow an analysis (something like in 1000 rolls I got only 107 double but my opponent 210).

The real statistics for unbiased dice rolls allow for re-entry from the bar and in situations in which only one or two points are closed in the opponent's home board you should be able to enter easily most rolls and fail to enter only very occasionally.
Jun 11, 2023 · 247backgammon players. I just started playing online as I have a lot of time on my hands lately. 247 seems pretty good, but most players rage quit as soon as they get in trouble. It just seems they will never really learn the long game if they leave so quickly. Are there any online games where people aren't like that? Rage quitting is so dumb.

Feb 22, 2023 · It can't happen more often than not. 1 chance in 36, 5 chances in 36, 11 chances in 36 -- it just can't keep happening! Therefore, yes...the dice are not random. I won't say rigged. There is some sort of algorithm, possibly to reward new players, maybe more accurate play, maybe higher paying members, who knows.

Looking for any helpful tips, strategies, books to read, etc. My uncle got me into backgammon about a year ago and he and I played pretty regularly and it was a pretty even split 50/50 when it came to winning.
Mar 15, 2018 · Backgammon Masters is pretty good. Reviewers tend to say the dice are rigged even if they aren’t, people prefer to blame their losses on rigged dice than their bad play. So it’s possible these apps you were looking at are fine too. Just avoid Lord of the Board. The dice are almost definitely crooked there.

Friendgammon is a good app on iOS. Pretty simple and basically made for the “play with friends” use case. I use backgammon legends which is ok.
