  8. Aug 23, 2023 · All three are terrific. Beau Is Afraid might be my favorite. Beau, for sure. For me Hereditary is one, Midsommar two and Beau three... My fav is which ever one I watched last. I think that Midsommar is the weak link at the moment, but that said I still think it's a super solid film and about an 8/10.

May 5, 2023 · ari aster's ambition is plain to see. beau is afraid is his most ambitious movie yet. it's almost three hours and it has an animated sequence. however, i think he's letting his ambition get in the way of what is appropriate for the story. he seems more interested in appearing smart then actually being smart.
