The Guardians didn't create the oath, nor do the rings actually require it to be spoken in order to charge. The oath serves mainly as a moment of reflection for the Lantern as well as a handy way to time the charging process.
The one in the upper left is the original Golden Age Green Lantern's oath. Nice callback. writers got tired of writing more rhymes. THis was back when the power battery was charged by the Guardians power themselves, not the ":emotional spectrum", and the rings were actually useful.
