Jun 11, 2015 · Politifact is biased toward naivety, in the sense that they choose which statements to check based on what naive people care about. Politifact is biased towards context-less statements (ie, it will tend to find statements that require no context to be true, and statements that require context to be half-true).

I've always asked " who fact checks the fact checkers?" but I'm sure a lot of people will say politifact is liberal and they are probably right but unbiased news is impossible. As a rule of thumb you should take any claim with a grain of salt and do your own research.
Jun 18, 2016 · Here's my explanation for why politifact is not trustworthy. They're pickers and choosers. If Hillary says something like "crime is rising in our streets," they ignore that statement. If Trump says it, they immediately take it and say "oh well crime rates have actually been falling so we rate this as pants on fire."

Nov 16, 2020 · At least websites like politifact have specialized resources, experience, and the time to go through politicians statements and check them against known facts. They have their own reputations to think about and so they have to watch what they say. It’s difficult to replicate that on your own in your free time.

Jul 25, 2019 · The editorial decisions of Politifact certainly contain some level of bias because they are decisions made by humans as to what is important or relevant. And that bias can change over time with editorial staff and policies. So any inference drawn from the data can only reflect on Politifact, not beyond.
