  1. Dec 16, 2018 · biggest risk is doing it all online. if you know someone here you should ask them to check places in person for you. but then this is good advice regardless of city. Rent an Airbnb for the 1st month and then go around and find a place when you are here. 30 days out is a perfect time to find a good Calgary rental.

  2. Jan 18, 2021 · As a landlord on RentFaster, I've had a ton of scammers looking to "rent" too. They ask for 1-3 months free, before even putting down a deposit or signing a lease. As if they're going to sign a lease after living somewhere free for 3 months. Naborly is a newer way to screen potential tenants.

  3. Sep 26, 2022 · Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. 1 beds are $1500-1800 right now, not $1000. 2 beds are $1900-$2300. Dont bother contacting any listing under $1400, that's definitely an old listing, a lie, or a place not fit for habitation. Thank you for the expected price update!

  4. Oct 11, 2023 · PadMapper used to be reasonably popular, Haven’t heard much of it in a while though so it might be a lowkey dead platform (worth checking though). These days I mostly hear of people using RentFaster, FB and Kijiji. Good luck out there! Reply reply. TheBigTimeBecks.

  5. Aug 19, 2022 · Any advice would be appreciated. Simple answer - yes. Yes, but take notes , it's hard to track who is renting what building when you go between text, email and the app. Yes…I used to be a landlord and used it all the time. I used both Rent Finder and Kijiji when I was looking for tenants for my home in Calgary.

  6. Mar 19, 2021 · I like padmapper, it has an option to show listings on a map. Yes, rentfaster and Kijiji. We recently moved to Calgary and used Kijiji to find our current rental. If you're going the Kijiji route, I would recommend doing additional research to learn about the neighbourhood and the building/management.

  7. Dec 1, 2015 · I've been following one property on Rentfaster for over 2 months now, and saw the rent lowered by over $400. They even added a free month of rent, cable/internet and an extra parking spot. I just checked last week and the property was taken down but I don't think it was rented because they usually say "rented" on the posting if they get taken.

  8. so far, through googling, the only website i found that is worth a damn is rentfaster.ca. all the other sites (kijiji, rentboard, padmapper, etc) seem to be severely lacking in filters, listings, and/or pictures. thanks. I would suggest a walk around the neighborhood that you are targeting.

  9. I always walked around neighbourhoods I liked and called rental signs. During better times, I would find six signs in heavy rental areas in six blocks and find somewhere by the end of my walk. Places that are amazing don't typically have to resort to Rentfaster to rent

  10. Jan 5, 2021 · Although year terms are more common, it’s no problem to find rentals that will do month to month, especially since there is way more supply than demand currently. Just check off ‘short term’ and ‘pet friendly’ on RentFaster.ca and you’ll have tons. I just did a quick search for $1500-2000 and over 200 listings came up.
