Smith & Wesson has been making these since 1899 and multiple variants evolved over the decades (more than a century). To me, this is a wonderful example of KISS Principal. M&P, Pre Model 10, Post War, 5 Screw.....slick and simple.

Sep 13, 2024 · One the best grips I've found is the Taurus small boot grip fitted to an S&W J frame. It gives a lot of upper back strap coverage to increase my trigger finger reach but is still a boot grip style. They also convert an SA/DA hammer gun into a DA only. You can fire the gun DA, but the grip prevents cocking the hammer.

Prior to the introduction of the L-frame, a very popular custom conversion was to fit a Python barrel to a K-frame Smith.

I've read here some conflicting information, from problems, to parts dropping out, snappiness, to sheer love. My other concern is the .380 being sufficient as a self-defense round. The BG 2.0 would be in my regular EDC routine.
