Sep 1, 2022 · UVic has been noted for having excellent research for its size, for example. UVic has a beautiful campus and the city is really nature focused. On the downside, housing is a problem and cost of living is high. On the plus side, UVic is a small university so you tend to have a cohort that you know quite well in your upper level classes.
Feb 13, 2014 · UVic does have many services for writing assistance (The Writing Centre), Co-op programs / job boards (Learning in Motion), Math/Stats assistance Centre, Counselling Services, Women's Sexual Assault Centre (not sure if there's an equivalent for men). If there's something specific you'd want/require, I could probably let you know more about it.
Mar 24, 2021 · Although, this was my experience pre-covid (2018-2019), I have no idea how much its changed since then. I'd keep in mind the length of the degree as well. I believe the UBC engineering program takes four years and the Uvic engineering program takes "four years" but I think the average is closer to 5 or 6.

But I'm waitlisted and got accepted by both Osgoode law and UVic Law. Can't decide between them. Oz seems to have more resources and opportunities while UVic would be more laid back and niche.
Jan 26, 2015 · I know that UVic has a good astronomy programme (UBC does, too) which would look great if you were planning on pursuing graduate studies in astronomy and astrophysics. UBC: Triumf: nationally/internationally recognised particle accelerator facility on campus with close ties to UBC faculty.
