The Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) is a junior ice hockey league of 11 clubs on Vancouver Island. The Brent Patterson Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.

Jul 25, 2023 · BC Hockey announced on Tuesday, July 25, the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL), including the Oceanside Generals and Nanaimo Buccaneers, along with their counterparts in the Lower Mainland (PJHL) and interior (KIJHL) will be granted full Junior A status for the 2023/24 season.
