Oct 25, 2024 · The one thing that I would rather have Wealthsimple do would be change from issuing prepaid Mastercards to use Mastercard Debit instead. Mastercard Debit would have the advantage of being accepted by merchants who accept only debit cards (but not credit cards).

Aug 10, 2024 · In the app, I have noticed Wealthsimple is now advertising that they will reimburse ATM fees in Canada (that the banks charge Wealthsimple customers) when using Wealthsimple Cash prepaid Mastercard. The maximum amount that Wealthsimple will reimburse is $5 per transaction, and the refund will happen within 4 business days after the transaction fully settles.
Under the promo tab, you can see 20k you deposited and payout $200 over 12 months. Their T&C also states your total assets will be locked for 12 months minus 5%, so if you already had 40k in TFSA before the promo, at end of the promo total assets would be 60k minus 5% is 57k, which you can also see in the promo tab.
5 days ago · Seems all memberships are annual. You'll get to choose your first reward once you reach $200,000 with Wealthsimple, another one at $300,000, and a third when you reach $400,000. You can enjoy these rewards for 12 months, at which point you get to choose something new, or stick with the ones you have.
