May 10, 2017 · 2017 has been an exciting year for The Briarwood School as we are celebrating the school’s 50th year. Briarwood began in Memorial Drive Baptist Church in 1967 with eight students and two teachers. The first graduating class was only six students.
The briarwood school applies special teaching methods to children with learning differences and intellectual disabilities. the school has an enrollment of approximately 350 students in grades kindergarten through twelve for 2018.
We help students understand how they learn best, how they can take advantage of their strengths and how they can become their own self-advocates. Briarwood is an independent, non-profit school that offers children with learning differences and developmental delays a broad range of programs.
