David Alan Nicholls (born 30 November 1966 [1]) is a British novelist and screenwriter. Initially an actor after graduating college, he became a screenwriter, notably creating Rescue Me and adaptations of novels, plays, and memoirs, many of them classics. He is writer of six novels.
