I grew up in Ottawa, where Farm Boy got their start before being bought by Sobey's. I actually worked for one for a while. The big con is price (on the higher-end, comparable in most cases to Metro/Loblaws) and selection: You won't find a million cereals, or 20 different kinds of beans, or most of the "big" name brands.
Feb 19, 2022 · Farm Boy Reviews I'm not originally from Canada and have never heard of this new store Farm Boy coming to Stone Rd. I've seen one or two posts here about it and as it is just a few mins away from me I'm curious if it's a good store or just another niche store where things are massively over priced under the guise of being better quality.

We have done the Farm Boy Dinner for 8 people (4 adults), and it was well worth it. Food was great, but it also meant my wife didn't spend two days in the kitchen, and actually was able to really enjoy the holidays. She spent a bit of time making desserts etc.
Feb 5, 2022 · Farm Boy produce is usually riper than the things we get at Costco so it will often not quite make it that long. In other words, the fruit is too good. An I neither work for nor am affilicated with Farm Boy even thought the above sounds a bit like a paid endorsement.
May 29, 2021 · Farm boy, which I have also only been to a handful of times, on the other hand, feels premium and up market. I believe Farm boy also has more good quality prepared foods, but I’m not 100% sure on that. I think they were just bought by Empire group, which owns Sobeys. I hope It pulls Sobey’s up market, rather than drag Farm boy down market.
A lot of the Farm Boy products are just other brands in Farm Boy packaging. I know chips are Covered Bridge from New Brunswick, the organic milk is repackaged Harmony Brand. You can find a lot of Farm Boy stuff in other stores under the original brand name, but it tends to be cheaper when sold as Farm Boy.

Dec 16, 2020 · Farm Boy is opening a third location in the region. The newest store, which is just under 27,000 square feet, is scheduled to open at 417 King Street North (King St. N. and Weber St. N.) in Waterloo on January 7. The fresh food retailer says opening the new store has also led to the creation of 130 jobs.
