Jonathan Frakes seems to have been born into a body a bit too big for him. He doesn't know how to use it and comes across as 'ungainly'. He doesn't stand tall and proud like Worf and seems uncomfortable in his skin, but I have especially noticed his cornering.

Mar 19, 2020 · Jonathan Frakes recently had the opportunity to reprise his role alongside Marina Sirtis' Troi, on Star Trek: Picard, and it turns out that one reason he wanted to do the show was so that they could fulfill the promise of the relationship which he felt was side-lined by The Next Generation. If you look at the episodes and movies he's directed, the cast seems very much at ease with eachother, and the material. They were very "present" in those projects. Jan 25, 2017 · Jonathan Frakes is another limited actor- it's astonishingly good fortune to have played second fiddle to Patrick Stewart. He improved tremendously and was quite natural by the time of "Generations" however- and does have a likeability factor the above actors lack.

However, Frakes has mentioned in one of the DVD docs that, at the beginning of Season 2, the beard was still patchy in a few spots, so the makeup or hair artist supplemented it w/ some fake (actually, probably another human's real hair), until ...
