Though she had her biggest singles successes with other people's songs, she was a brilliant writer herself and 'Kite' is a fantastic album.

  4. Dec 18, 2020 · A tragic loss. People seem to hate Fairytale of New York these days. I think its one of the best Christmas songs ever - and possibly one of the best songs ever. Its a real couple who hate each other, but can't be apart. To me it's incredibly sad. Especially as Shane isn't yhe best singer in the world.

Robert Elms show on BBC London featured a 'four-fer' from Kirsty -his regular slot where listeners phone in with their favourite songs from a selected artist. It was a lovely and moving tribute to her on this most saddest of days.

Dec 18, 2006 · We all know that one of the best loved Christmas songs of all time (although it's not strictly meant only to be played at Christmas) is Fairytale of New York recorded by The Pogues with Kirsty MacColl. Just a pity as yet another year goes by (Kirsty was killed on December 18th 2000) that still no one has been held responsible for her death.

  9. A big talent and a big loss. I also remember her regular appearances on the early French & Saunders shows. She had a wonderful all-round appeal. :cool:

At the end of the cermony, we had Move On played, 'cause the words worked so well. Much better than the usual, deeply depressing funeral music.
