Mesa began in 1980 when JB Aviation, a fixed-base operator at the Four Corners Regional Airport in Farmington, NM, established a charter flight department and Mesa Air Shuttle with scheduled commuter airline service from Farmington to Albuquerque using a five-seat single-engine Piper Saratoga aircraft.

  7. Dec 30, 2022 · Mesa Air has agreed to a new deal with United Airlines as it plans to become exclusively linked to the carrier's passenger operations from next year. The agreement will see the full-service carrier provide $41.2 million in financial backing, as well as another $80 million to cover extra engines.
