I submitted student work and Turnitin gave it a fairly low similarity score, but 100% AI score. The student told me that he had Grammarly edit his work. Unfortunately, he composed his work on Grammarly (at least, that is what he says), so there isn't any original document that was corrected by Grammarly.

The help notes say this: If resubmissions are allowed within an assignment, the first three resubmissions will generate a new Similarity Report straight away. After three resubmissions, a 24-hour wait is enforced to generate Similarity Reports for all subsequent resubmissions.
We have the same problems. Apparently, someone offers a turnitin originality check and the students pay and then are surprised that their work was submitted in Pakistan. We have asked several times for the original paper, but no reply has come. I think Turnitin should seriously address such misuses.
In our quest to understand what actually is new, we turned to one of the most widely known and utilized resources Turnitin has ever created, the Plagiarism Spectrum. At first, we considered simply adding new, emerging threats, such as misuse of generative AI writing tools or paraphrasing tools (aka text spinners).
Please note that I am unable to provide a timeframe for when a fix will be implemented at this time, so I would recommend keeping an eye on the Turnitin release notes page as the resolution along with any other bug fixes and releases will be communicated there.
