And I had CNAME to point to that 3-rd party DDNS host name. Feb 28, 2022 · Very reliable and speed-wise there isn't any appreciable difference (<10ms) over the ISP's DNS servers. NextDNS fan here. It is quite different from Quad9 ou Cloudflare though, these do not offer custom filtering at all, only privacy. Pro tip: on a PC you can use NextDNS in YogaDNS (setup instructions are detailed on NextDNS page).
May 24, 2021 · When set to DNS Only, Cloudflare doesn't touch your traffic at all. When someone types in your domain, it'll simply return the DNS record just like any other resolver. When set to Proxied, Cloudflare processes your traffic as a reverse proxy and you get the speed and security enhancements.
How good is Cloudflare as a registrar? I've been thinking that I want to transfer my domains over to them from Namecheap, because they have a much better interface and Namecheap doesn't support Let's Encrypt officially. I know I can just use Cloudflare as a nameserver, but I didn't see that point of having Namecheap as a middleman if I was just going to be using Cloudflare most of the time.
