Nov 5, 2023 · When I contacted LYFT and the City of Toronto about the non-renewal, I got the following response: "Please note: As directed by City Council , starting October 13, the City is pausing the acceptance of new applications for vehicle-for-hire (taxicab and limousine) and private transportation company (for example, Uber and Lyft) driver licences until further notice.

Im also thinking that they come in and most drivers - disgruntled would turn the app off and get the benefits of lyft, while those who stick on Uber will get surge prices from their huge base...but in the end more will switch resulting in fair prices..and not prices going ...
