The Manitoba Museum turned 50 on July 15, 2020! Before the Centennial Centre was built, the early provincial museum was housed in the Civic Auditorium. In 1965, provincial legislation incorporated the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature and the Manitoba Planetarium in its current location as part of the planned Manitoba Centennial Centre.
The Manitoba Museum is a proud partner of CANOO, a mobile app that helps new Canadian citizens celebrate their citizenship by providing free admission to over 1,400 museums, science centres, art galleries, parks, and historic sites across Canada.

The Museum is committed to reflecting the continued legacy of all the original peoples of this province, including the Ithiniwak, Denesułine, Anishininiwak, Inuit, and Nakota. We acknowledge the harms of the past, are committed to improving relationships in the spirit of truth and reconciliation, and appreciate the opportunity to live and learn on these traditional lands in mutual respect.
The Manitoba Museum, previously the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature, is a human and natural history museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as the province's largest, not-for-profit centre for heritage and science education. [2] Located close to City Hall, the museum was designed in 1965 by Herbert Henry Gatenby Moody of Moody and Moore.
