Aug 7, 2021 · 1.2.5 is the best as far as release versions go, but you can go up to 1.6.4 through the use of the right mods. I know this is 10 days old, but still would like to help. b1.7.3 - 1.4.7 were one of the best classic versions. Id say try beta 1.7 then try a release version and see which one you like more.
CatCraft is a smaller, adult only, community focused Minecraft server. We started Season 1 on April 4, 2019. With the launch of 1.18, we began Season 2 in December 2021 to make the most of the new biomes and world generation. Our intention is a long term world, with a slow world border expansion as new 1.X updates are released.
For a while, Classic was nicely kept and maintained however in the last years it has fallen to decay. Project Omega aims to restore Minecraft Classic to its former glory by re-adding level saving and loading, fixing sound and even making a modern multiplayer client that is not dependent on login servers or heartbeats and serverlists that could go offline at any moment.

(I apologize in advance if this reads funny, I'm using voice to text to write this) I have been using the “Fungi Creature” classic skin from Battle & Beasts 2 for years, and just recently it has stopped working. And it is mildly infuriating.
Beta 1.7.3 because its the last version with the old terrain generation and without hunger for that true old school experience. Release 1.2.5 for a little bit more features and variety (like villages, redstone lamps, stone bricks) without being too far removed from the "true golden age" versions, still lacking the massive bloat of the modern game.

Pre-release Minecraft lasted 2009 to 2011, and "new'" Minecraft lasted 2012 to 2019, which gives Classic MC a lifespan of 2 years, and New MC a lifespan of 7 years at this point. For some reason though, it feels as if New MC has only been existed for a couple years, while old MC lasted like 5 years. No idea why my brain feels that way.

Due to the format of chrome extensions, there is no need to have any Minecraft Classic source code included within the extension code so following that criteria even very strictly should be very simple. I have already programmed a way to inject into and edit the code of Minecraft Classic with nearly no reference to what the code is at all.
May 4, 2018 · And I finally found a copy. I found it by looking at archive.org, the internet archive "wayback machine", and searching their archives of minecraft.net. Now in this JAR I found, examining it in 7zip, I found that no file has a modified year greater than 2009. This is the true original 0.30 classic MC JAR file. The JAR's file size is also smaller.
