The National Post is a credible source of news. On the Canadian political spectrum, its editorial approach leans to the right. Along with the Globe and Mail, the National Post is one of the only Canadian newspapers to bill itself as a "national" paper (rather than a locally focused one).

National Post is owned by Post Media, which is now 2/3 controlled by an American media with close ties to the Republicans. Just like America's media landscape is now of the "choose your own reality" type of news, we're seeing that creep into Canada. Chatham is the name of the hedge fund that owns it.

On the political spectrum, the Sun is on the right, the Star is on the left, the Globe and Mail is about central left, and the National Post is central right. As for quality of journalism, the Globe and Mail edges the Toronto Star, but the Star has more local coverage.

The National Post once ran an opinion column where the writer was sad that the fact Toronto Van Terrorist wasn't a Muslim. Aug 24, 2021 · Typically CBC, Global News, CTV, and the National Post are all pretty good (imo) The first three tend to be liberally biased, whereas the NP is conservatively biased (good to even it out). I'm sure you'll have replies for anglo news sources, but for francophone news I tend to look at Le Devoir, Radio-Canada (CBC in french) and La Presse.
The main news sources: National Post - an openly conservative news source. Global News - they used to be run by the same people as the Post. They'll have similar views, but on TV. Globe and Mail - represents the business liberal community. CTV - used to be owned by the same people as the Globe.
