- Patience pays off for Upper Arlington. After an up-and-down first seven games, Upper Arlington is peaking at the perfect time. The Golden Bears have won six consecutive games heading into the Region 3 final Friday against second-seeded Bradley.
- Defense makes difference for Hilliard Bradley. The Jaguars have reached their first regional final and have set a program record for wins, and coach Mike LoParo doesn’t hesitate when asked about the key.
- Dublin Coffman takes another step forward. Led by third-year coach Geron Stokes, Coffman earned its first regional final berth since 2019 by beating second-seeded Olentangy Berlin 24-7 in a Region 2 semifinal at Westerville Central.
- Deficit doesn’t faze West Jefferson. Given that they average 38.1 points, the second-seeded Roughriders weren’t too worried about a 10-0 deficit in Friday’s regional semifinal against third-seeded Beverly Fort Frye.
