Among its many distinctive features, RISD boasts an unconventional and unforgettable mascot: Scrotie. Scrotie was never the official team mascot, but for the past 21 years, he’s been a semi-regular presence at Nads games.
Aug 12, 2020 · Scrotie is the phallic mascot that cheers on the Nads, Balls, Seamen, Pricks, and other teams from across the RISD campus. Each team has a separate (though clearly intentionally themed) mascot, but Scrotie is there to be sure each and every student section remembers their sport-specific cheers.
Lest the sexual innuendo of these team names and logos be lost or dismissed, the 2001 creation of the school's unofficial mascot, Scrotie, ended any ambiguity. Despite the name, Scrotie is not merely a representation of a scrotum, but is a 7-foot tall penis.

The Picture Collection is an image resource for faculty, students, and researchers that has been an important feature of the RISD educational experience since 1968. It contains almost 500,000 hardcopy images of people, places, and things, as well as mounted prints of art, architecture, and design.
