But soon Clark leaves her (walking off straight through a field), and explains that he must be about his father's business.
The movie begins with the tremendous advantage that almost everyone in the audience knows the Superman saga from youth. There aren't a lot of explanations needed; that's brilliantly demonstrated in the first scene where Superman tries to change in a phone booth.
