Described as an Ethiopian-inspired retelling of Jane Eyre, this novel delivered exactly what I was hoping for. I really enjoyed this story. The atmosphere was fantastic, dripping with danger and dark gothic vibes.

   Aug 28, 2022 · 3.5/5. I appreciate Ania Ahlborn's writing. I liked the character work in here, as I did with Brother. Similarly, I enjoyed the ending. This wasn't especially my cup of tea with the paranormal element, though I suppose it might not be considered that depending on your beliefs. Hence, the interest in cults.
