  1. Deep Blue Sea is one of my favorite movies, and with its 20th anniversary approaching on July 28th, I decided to over-analyze the movie to breakdown the surprise death of Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson). Even if you haven’t watched Deep Blue Sea, I’m 92.434% certain you know about Samuel L. Jackson’s surprise death, because it’s ...

  2. Apr 8, 2024 · Deep Blue Sea is mainly regarded by many as a mere cheap 90s popcorn flick but I feel this extra content would have made it a genuinely good story with plenty of emotion to boot. There was so much depth to Susan's character that was cut to make you feel more impartial toward her so the death would feel less tragic and more deserved.

  3. Sep 13, 2017 · Rek07. • 7 yr. ago. I remember at the time it was hyped up for breaking a lot of the horror movie rules. So I remember enjoying catching those. I don't remember them all but I think the teens having a boat party at the start of the film would normally die. Having all the women die and two men surviving was another.

  4. Nov 11, 2021 · ADMIN MOD. Let’s talk about Deep Blue Sea (1999) Discussion. Deep blue sea has everything. Poorly written dialogue with some big name actors, lots of blood but also terrible CGI specifically the scene where Samuel L Jackson’s character gets bit in half by the shark. Also the animatronic shark looked pretty cool and realistic as well.

  5. Jul 28, 2018 · Randym1982. SPOILER. Deep Blue Sea. [Spoilers] I actually enjoyed this movie, but felt a few things were left unexplained. Like how did Thomas Jane's character swim with the sharks and not get bitten them. (The regular sharks). I did however enjoy the fact that the sharks would at times toy with the people and troll them hard.

  6. Aug 22, 2021 · Deep Blue Sea is one of my favorite shark movies of all time, along with one of my more favorite horror flicks. I love the setup, I love the storyline progression, the kills are still spectacular 23 years later, and the CGI has held up particularly well. Everything is great, and why I've watched it continuously since I got it on VHS in 2000.

  7. Deep Blue Sea's original ending. Spoiler Alert. According to the script, this is how Deep Blue Sea was originally supposed to end. Contrary to popular belief, Preacher survives in the original ending too, after Susan finishes wrapping up Preacher's leg, he passes out. She walks out to Carter and takes a moment to admire how beautiful the ocean ...

  8. May 12, 2024 · I think the theatrical ending in Deep Blue Sea ruined the movie. In the theatrical ending, Susan gets eaten by the shark, Preacher climbed up the tower and blew up the shark with the harpoon and the explosives (Even though Preacher didn't know what the plan was and was trying to recover from the bite wound on his leg).

  9. Jun 18, 2024 · In Deep Blue Sea, Susan lost her dad to Alzheimer's, so that's why i felt she isn't a villain and why i felt she didn't deserve to die. She did care about her colleagues. The reason people act like she didn't care about them or tried to save them is because, most audiences have the memory of a goldfish, and also they have a ''Good Guys, Bad Guys, all or nothing'' mentality.

  10. Jun 3, 2022 · Discussion. Just rewatched Deep Blue Sea (1999) for the first time since I saw it in the theater. It is still awesome! Objectively, probably not a great movie but I totally loved the whole thing, cheesy lines and all! I remember when I first saw it in 1999 loving the fact that it subverted expectations.
