Hertz is a scam! Hertz owes me $743.63. I rented a car for two weeks because I didn't know how long my dad was going to live. I pick up the car on March 28th and return it on April 6th. Not only was I charged an additional $318.64 for insurance I didn't want or need as American Express offers car rental insurance.

Car fax was clean, car seemed in nice shape except for a heavy chain in the trunk(?) it had been originally out of state so we assume it was car carriers chain Anyway no major problems until the car was hit in the back. Needed a new rear bumper.

Most of the cars are 2-3 years old with higher than normal (for Hertz) mileage. Getting a reservation was easy, until it was time to pick up my rental.

Feb 28, 2022 · Every airport that I have been to has a main Hertz counter and then a Hertz Gold counter in the parking garage area. If you are a Hertz Gold member, you can go directly to that counter. However, if you provide Hertz your flight information, they will more than likely have your name on an electronic board in the parking garage after you land.
May 21, 2022 · After much searching, found a random aggregator site for car rentals and found a full-size car from hertz for about $909 and booked it. The site was kind of sketchy looking, but a lot of them are. Nevertheless, the official hertz website had my reservation immediately, and it shows the same total, and with a discount listed as "discounts: cdp name: small business rent"
The nice thing about ex-rentals is that companies like Enterprise, Hertz, etc are going to maintain them well and fix problems relatively quickly. A broken down car loses the company money, so there's arguably more preventative maintenance done on a rental than a privately owned vehicle.
