The angel blesses one candle and the Haddigan’s, the village candle makers, chose one needy person to give the candle to.
A composite of late humorist/author Jean Shepherd’s short stories recounting his childhood growing up in the post WW2 era midwest. An utterly charming, and altogether wonderful film. Set in 1940’s Cleveland, Ohio, it traces the longings of a young nine yr. old boy named Ralphie, who desperately wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas.

Nov 14, 2014 · As Christians who celebrate Christmas and teach our children how Christmas symbols can point to Jesus, we want to applaud, praise, and support a Christian movie about Christmas, but deep down we felt that, in reality, the movie was poorly done—we just hate to admit it. Nov 24, 2004 · Christmas is supposed to be a time where we share Jesus’ gift of giving by giving to others, and this movie certainly showed that. Although some people found it tasteless that the neighbors were given the cruise tickets, considering that the wife had cancer, I think that it was a great ending.
Nov 8, 2019 · Each year, several family-friendly streaming and cable networks turn out a bunch of clean romantic Christmas movies. I couldn’t help wishing, as I watched this, that this had been one of them. More commitment to the twist in a miraculous or divine sense and a little less content would have made this a memorable annual tradition.
