   Oct 26, 2002 · The Aragon 2004, (non Mkll) is replacing an Adcom GFA 545 that although a decent amp, just didn't have what it takes to drive my speakers. I consider the 2004 to be an excellent bargin in high end sound and considering the fact that I live in an apartment I really couldn't use anymore power than this puts out as it's capable of driving my 4 ohm speakers to in excess of 110db.

   The Aragon 4004 MkII has been around for the longest time in my audio collection. Back then, around 1993, this amp has been used numerous time by various Stereophile reviewers as the reference amp to evalulate other products. So I jumped on the bandwagon as well.

   • The Aragon 4004MKII is well worth it if looking for plenty of power and excellent sound to go with it. Build, sound and value. Looks. Could have used a second pair of speakers. Got the Aragon 4004 about three years ago, when the audio bug bit me, and the more I get exposed to other gear, the more impressed i am with it.

   • Seriosly. Anyway, the Aragon 4004 works magic even at low volume, which is where most of us listen, making it practical - the bass is always there, heavy footted and sure. Seperation is wonderful: although I think that seperation is mostly a preamp job, the amp, being the last link in the chain may ruin it - but not the Aragon.
