Apr 15, 2023 · James Fennell and his family lived in the Stable Yard for eight years while they were doing up Burtown House, which has been in his family since it was built in 1710.
Much of the present flower, vegetable and woodland gardens were reclaimed from paddocks, fields and woodlands by Lesley Fennell and her son James. The Nutgrove, once a romantic garden in the 18th century, is perhaps the oldest part of the garden and is now being replanted.
