Jul 13, 2021 · If you are on a plan that doesn’t include a free rental (grandfathered or limited tv), make sure you buy one that isn’t retired, or soon to be retired. Also, make sure that you check the serial number with Shaw to make sure it is ok to be activated on your account.
Simple answer; Yes, Rogers is eventually going to phase out old school digital cable TV & force customers to Ignite, & there's nothing anyone can do about it. I was able to stay off ignite at last renewal, but it took some arguing.
I have traditional Rogers cable tv, not internet based Ignite service. I get internet over the cable via Teksavvy. Last week Rogers had contractors doing maintenance on the local access points and I guess the box in front of my house got disconnected.
