   • Latin School owes much to Epes Sargent Dixwell, who succeeded Dillaway, for during his 15 years as Head Master, he founded the Boston Latin School Association in 1844 and made Gould's dream of a school library a reality. 1844 also marked the establishment of a new school building on Bedford Street.
