Founded in 1919 as a family business, Peoples Jewellers was the first company in Canada to sell jewellery on a time payment plan. From this modest beginning, the company grew to a national business, and by 1957 was the largest credit jeweller in the British Commonwealth.
Yeah, they have sales from time to time, but it depends on the jewellery you're looking for. They mainly have silver, 10K, and 14K gold (so no 18K or 24K), and some gemstones are synthetic. If it's too cheap, it's probably because the diamonds aren't big enough to be graded.

Their website is like most other jewelry retailers—clean, easily navigable, and with well-described pages and item descriptions. You are able to shop by material, by style, by gender, or by price, which is a worthwhile feature. However, there is no option for buying diamonds separate from their settings, and so, what you see is what you get.

Sep 19, 2024 · Peoples Jewellers fall incredibly short when it comes to the prices of their diamonds and engagement rings, which are exceptionally higher than James Allen or Blue Nile's. What makes matters worse is that the quality is not good either. You will be paying a premium price for an underwhelming piece.
