  2. Aug 6, 2019 · From Actions Comics to Blackest Night, Geoff Johns is a seasoned comic book writer and these are his best runs.

    • Senior Staff Writer
    • THE SINESTRO CORPS WAR. After the return of Sinestro and the reveal of the existence of the fear entity, Parallax, Geoff Johns built up to this epic storyline, where Sinestro and Parallax team-up to form their own Lantern Corps.
    • ABSOLUTE ZERO. During his run on "Flash," Geoff Johns was perhaps best known for the great work he did in the development of both new villains for the Flash, as well as the original Flash Rogues.
    • SUPERMAN AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES. As noted earlier, Geoff Johns and Brad Meltzer had re-introduced the classic Paul Levitz version of the Legion in a "Justice League of America"/"Justice Society of America" storyline.
    • 52 PICK-UP. After "Infinite Crisis" and "52," Booster Gold found himself in a fascinating situation in his ongoing series, written by Geoff Johns and Jeff Katx, and drawn by Booster Gold creator Dan Jurgens and inker Norm Rapmund.
    • Russ Burlingame
    • Hawkman. Johns's time on Hawkman was mostly remarkable for making fans care about a character that they ordinarily wouldn't--one of the habits that you'll see echoed a couple of times on this list.
    • Teen Titans. Johns's run on Teen Titans is essentially the next generation's response to Grant Morrison's JLA. The concept of the Titans had been a huge success in the '80s, but after that version was cancelled it had been all over the map, with new approaches and different lineups tried, none of which really succeeded the way DC hoped.
    • The Flash. We're talking the pre-Rebirth, Wally West run here. Nothing against Johns's Barry Allen work, but it just wasn't on the same level as what he accomplished before and leading up to the story where he finally gave Wally West a peaceful, sentimental send-off and a happy ending.
    • JSA. The book that launched Johns into stardom, JSA took elements of Johns's first DC work (Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.) and integrated those with the classic characters and concepts of the JSA.
  3. The hunt for the entities was really run. I personally started seeing the cracks with War of the GLs. It has its moments, but feels very hastily put together and has bad pacing.

    • Mike Carlin’s “Triangle Era” with Dan Jurgens, Jerry Ordway, Louise Simonson, Roger Stern, Jon Bogdanove, Tom Grummett, Karl Kesel. Our number one slot of Superman eras is a weird one, because it doesn’t belong to one creative team.
    • Mort Weisinger’s Silver Age Era. with Otto Binder, Jerry Siegel, Al Plastino, Curt Swan. Most of the names on this list are modern, adhering to what we think of as a creative team “run” on a specific title.
    • John Byrne. with Jerry Ordway, Marv Wolfman. Despite massive success on the big screen, by the early ‘80s, comic book Superman was seen as a relic of a bygone era.
    • Grant Morrison. with Frank Quitely, Rags Morales. Grant Morrison is one of the greatest voices in comics, and has written definitive runs on most of the famous superheroes at this point.
  4. Jan 26, 2021 · Geoff Johns' run on Green Lantern is the definitive run for the series in the modern-day, and the ten best storylines from that run are some of the best starting points to get into Green Lantern.

  5. Aliens in Geoff's run always seem to be "Human with purple skin", "very large human with a slightly funky face" or, if you're lucky, "talking earth animal, possibly giant". Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps(which should be the most alien-infused title), and New Guardians all are lead by human Lanterns.
