Alva Lease Duckwall (the first) built this home in 1914. He was the founder of Duckwall Racket Stores, which was incorporated in 1915, with him being elected president. The home remains in the Duckwall family today (2022)
Aug 5, 2013 · Don Duckwall gives us insights into both worlds. Don Alva Duckwall was born April 2, 1916, at Clay Center, the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Duckwall. The family moved to Abilene when he was a small child.
