Most cover parodies replaced the characters of the series for characters of other franchises.The manga tells a story revolving Nakamura Okuto, a closeted gay high schooler who has a crush on his classmate, Hirose Aiki. Each chapter has the shy Nakamura attempting to involve himself in scenarios that allow the both to interact, although most end in a comedic failure.
Nakamura-kun!!'s first chapter starts off like this, showing Nakamura and Hirose heading home together. Just when it looks like they're about to share a kiss, Nakamura wakes up, and finds not Hirose's lips on his, but his pet octopus tightly suctioned onto his face.
